Terms of service

The agreement between you and Flourish. What we promise, what we ask of you, and what happens if something goes wrong.

Last updated 2 August 2026

The agreement

These terms are between you and Institute for the Future of Work, a charity registered in England and Wales, charity number 1180718, company number 11263261, registered at Fieldfisher, Riverbank House, 2 Swan Lane, London EC4R 3TT. Using Flourish means you accept them. If you do not, please do not use the service.

They apply to the Flourish app and to partner versions of it that carry another organisation’s branding.

What Flourish is

Flourish helps you work out what you can do, find work and training near you, and take a next step. It gathers job adverts, courses and labour market statistics from many sources and puts them in one place, alongside an assistant called Moss.

Flourish is not an employment agency, a recruiter, a training provider or a careers adviser regulated by anyone. We do not employ you, we do not place you, and we do not act as your agent with an employer.

Your account

  • You need to be old enough to enter a contract in your country, and at least 16.
  • The details you give us should be true, and yours.
  • Your sign-in belongs to you. Do not let someone else use it, and tell us if you think someone has.
  • One account per person. Automated sign-ups are not allowed.

You can close your account at any time in Settings.

Using it properly

Some things are off limits, mostly because they harm other people who use the service.

  • Do not scrape, copy or resell the job, course or labour market data.
  • Do not try to break, overload or get around the security of the service.
  • Do not upload anything unlawful, abusive, or belonging to someone else without their permission.
  • Do not use Moss to produce content that is illegal, or that is designed to mislead or harm somebody.
  • Do not pretend to be someone else, or upload another person’s CV as your own.

If you break these terms we may limit or close your account. Where it is reasonable we will tell you why first and give you a chance to put it right.

What you put in stays yours

Your CV, your answers and your conversations belong to you. You give us permission to store and process them so we can run the service for you, including sending them to the providers named in the privacy policy. That permission ends when you delete the content or close your account.

We may use anonymous, aggregated information about how the service is used to improve it and to publish research about the labour market. Nothing published in that way identifies you.

What we cannot promise

This part matters more than the rest, so it is in plain words.

  • We cannot promise you a job, an interview, a course place or a particular wage.
  • Job adverts and courses come from other organisations. They can be out of date, wrong or already filled, and we do not check each one.
  • Pay figures and statistics are estimates drawn from published sources and from adverts. They describe a market, not an offer to you.
  • Moss is generated by a language model and can be confidently wrong. Treat it as a starting point, not as advice.
  • Nothing in Flourish is legal, financial, immigration, benefits or medical advice. For those, go to the organisation responsible.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep Flourish running, but it can go down for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. We may add, change or remove features, and we may stop offering the service. If we are going to stop, we will give you notice and a way to take your data with you.

If something goes wrong

We are responsible for loss we cause by failing to take reasonable care. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, for loss caused by the third party organisations whose adverts and courses we list, or for decisions you take on the basis of information in the service.

Nothing here limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Your rights as a consumer are unaffected.

Ending this agreement

You can stop using Flourish and delete your account whenever you like. We may end the agreement if you break these terms, or if we stop offering the service. Deleting your account removes your data as described in the privacy policy.

Complaints and the law

Tell us first. Email support@flourish.so and we will try to sort it out. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK you can bring a claim in your own country’s courts.

Questions about the terms themselves go to legal@flourish.so.
